This is a tried and true recipe !! if you want to satisfy your sweet tooth, you cannot go wrong here. This is the way my mother always made it, just give a shot it won’t fail you!

The Kentucky Derby is the most unbelievable of all American pureblood horse races. It happens each year at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, on the principal Saturday in May. The Run for the Roses is the longest-running game in the United States, dating to 1875, and quickly infers customs that have gotten permanently connected to it: knockout caps for the ladies, a reference to the time where it started; mint juleps; wagering; the melody “My Old Kentucky Home;” a cover of roses for the triumphant pony (which gave the race its substitute name) and famous people. Maybe one of the dearest customs is its whiskey chocolate pecan pie.!To Make this Recipe You’ Will Need the following ingredients:

Ingredients

1 ¼ cups chopped pecans
4 large eggs
¾ cup brown sugar
¾ cup light corn syrup
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup butter, melted and cooled
¼ cup white sugar
2 tablespoons bourbon
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
¾ cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
1 (9 inches) unbaked deep-dish pie crust

Spicy Southern fried chicken!

Directions

Step 1 Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
Step 2 Spread pecans over a cookie sheet.
Step 3 Bake pecans in preheated oven until toasted, about 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Check pecans after 30 minutes. Allow pecans to cool completely.
Step 4 Increase oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Step 5 Whisk eggs, brown sugar, light corn syrup, flour, butter, white sugar, bourbon, and vanilla extract together in a bowl until smooth. Fold pecan pieces and chocolate chips into the egg mixture until combined; pour into prepared pie crust.
Step 6 Bake in preheated oven until pie is set, 50 to 60 minutes. Serve warm or chilled.
